Itinerary
Day 1: Travel from America
Day 2: Westminster Abbey/Tower of London
Take a walk around the city of Westminster and see Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and when available, the Changing of the Guard. Then take a boat trip down the Thames from Westminster Pier which takes you past the Globe, and the Golden Hind, until finally you reach Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. At the Tower we will discover the dark history of this commanding prison and palace and also feast our eyes on the Crown Jewels. Spend Night in London
Day 3: Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
Visit at the reconstructed Globe theatre and learn about the methods of Elizabethan actors. Take a walk around the borough of Southwark to learn more about the life and times of Shakespeare or participate in a workshop exploring Shakespeare plays and characters. Finally, watch one of Shakespeare’s plays in its original setting. Combine this with a trip to the Tate Modern, St Paul’s cathedral, or just take some time free time to discover your own corner of London. Spend Night in London
Day 4: Stonehenge/Bath
Start your day by travelling to the mysterious Stonehenge on a quest for King Arthur, the Holy Grail and England’s mystical past. From there we will visit Bath, a town whose history predates the Romans arrival in 1st century A.D. by 5,000 years. Here you can visit the Roman Baths and learn about the healing waters that attracted the most fashionable of British society, who came to Bath to see and be seen. Among the visitors were Dr Johnson, Sir Walter Scott, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. Learn about what drew these authors to Bath and how the experience featured in their writings.
Day 5: Stratford and Warwick
Love Shakespeare? Want to see one of England\'s most historic castles? Then join us at Stratford and Warwick for a day of classic castles and barmy bards. Begin your day with Warwick Castle, where you can walk the castle walls, meet the young Winston Churchill and explore banqueting rooms and secret passages in the Great Hall. We then travel to Shakespeare\'s Stratford to find out where Shakespeare went to school, how he survived the plague and why he put a curse on his own grave!
Day 6: Dublin
From Killarney continue your tour in the captivating and charismatic city of Dublin. Take a walking tour to learn about what life was like Dublin for such famous authors as Jonathan Swift, James Joyce and Samuel Beckett. Learn about the Easter Rising of 1916 and the history of this thriving city. After you learn about the city take some time to discover it on your own.
Day 7: Cobh/Blarney Castle
From Dublin travel to Cobh and enjoy the interactive Queenstown experience where you can learn what it was like to be an Irish immigrant. See the town that would have been you last glimpse of Ireland before travelling off to America. Cobh was also the last port of call for the Titanic. From there travel to world famous Blarney Castle where you can kiss the blarney stone and be endowed with a ‘gift for the gab.’ Finally, travel to Killarney, gateway to the beautiful Ring of Kerry. Spend night in Killarney
Day 8: Ring of Kerry
On your second day in Killarney, enjoy a tour around the Ring of Kerry including Staigue Fort an Iron Age fort built 2,500 years ago, Molls Gap for a breathtaking view of MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and the surrounding lakes, and Torc Waterfall. Or get out of the coach and take a hike on a tour that starts at Kate Kearney’s Cottage, where you can start a walk through the Gap of Dunloe before continuing your journey by boat via the Upper, Middle and Lower Lakes, before returning to Killarney. Spend night in Killarney
