Itinerary
Day 1/2 Travel: Welcome to Madrid: Museo del Prado
Get settled in your hotel and then take a walking tour to introduce you to the sights of Spain’s capital city. You may also wish to visit the world famous Museo del Prado See masterpieces of El Greco, Goya and Velasquez, before relaxing in the Parque del Retiro or visit the colourful street market
Day 3: Toledo
Spend the morning in the medieval city of Toledo, a labyrinth of narrow streets, synagogues, mosques and cathedrals. Then we drive through La Mancha, the land of Cervantes and Don Quioxote on our way to Andalucia and Cordoba. Afternoon: Free time in Madrid
Day 4: Madrid: Palacio Real and Centro de Arte Reina Sofia
Visit Palacio Real Madrid’s Royal Palace, boasting more rooms than any other palace in Europe. Have lunch in Plaza Mayor, Madrid’s most famous square where can relax and watch the world go by or have a look in the arcade shops for trinkets made by local artisans. in the afternoon, we enjoy Centro de Arte Reina Sofia where you will find works by Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Picasso’s Guernica.
Day 5: Cordoba
In Cordoba, visit the Mezquita, a twelve hundred year old mosque which is one of the world’s architectural masterpieces. Its beauty will stun any onlooker.
Day 6: Granada
Morning:Towering above Granada is the imposing Alhambra Palace, stronghold of the Moors which has been captivating the city’s inhabitants and visitors for over seven centuries. The fortress (Alcazaba), the Royal Palace (Casa Real) and the palace gardens (Generalife) make this one of the most popular attractions in Spain.
Day 7: Welcome to Barcelona
In the morning we visit the Old Quarter inlcuding the Cathedral, the Four Cats, until we reach the sea and the foot of Las Rambals. in the afternoon enjoy some shopping in this youthful and vibrant city before a visit to the Picasso Museum, for a look at the art of Barcelona\'s prodigal son.
Day 8: Barcelona: Sagrada Familia/ La Pedrera
A day to celebrate the Barcelona’s most famous architect, Antoni Gaudi, whose modernist buildings fluidly melt into the skyline. We begin with a work in progress, the stunning Sagrada Familia that seems to float in air. Then in the afternoon we visit La Pedrera - Casa Mila an apartment block in the true modernist style with a magnificent roof terrace.
Day 9:
Return home
Evening option: Enjoy live Flamenco, Barcelona style!
