Itinerary
Day 1: Travel from America
Day 2: WELCOME TO BERLIN!
On your first day we work our way west, from Museum island , see a ghost metro station beforing arriving ath the iconic BRANDENBURG GATE, a place where citizens literally pulled down the Berlin Wall in 1989. The tour finishes at the REICHSTAG, home to the German parliament.
Day 3: Checkpoint Charlie/Museum Island
See HITLER’s BUNKER where you will learn about his last moments. See the controversial HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL, its monumental size awing all who walk into its labyrinth. End at CHECKPOINT CHARLIE and hear stories of miraculous escapes from East Berlin when the city was still divided. In the afternoon, visit MUSEUM ISLAND. See NEFERTITI, the stunning beauty from 3400 hundred years ago at the Altes Museum, and be literally transported to Ancient Greece at the PERGAMON MUSEUM, a temple from 2nd Century, with friezes of colossal giants fighting it out.
Day 4: POTSDAM
Famous site of the Potsdam Conference in 1945 and Frederick the Great’s SCHLOSS SANSSOUCI. You will tour the gorgeous gardens before visiting and THE NEW PALACE OF SANSSOUCI (built in 1763), where you can slip and slide on its gorgeous marble floors and see a room wallpapered with seashells.
Day 5: WELCOME TO PRAGUE
SEE what perestroika meant to the Czech Republic as you wend your through WENCESLAS SQUARE, site of the VELVET REVOLUTION in 1989. Hear stories of empire and Prussian grandeur as we continue to PRAGUE’S OLD TOWN before joining the crowds to see the Town Hall’s famous walking, chiming, dancing medieval clock.
Day 6: PRAGUE\'S ROYAL ROUTE
Walk across the VLATVA RIVER on the world famous CHARLES BRIDGE to Hradcany Town, where you will find the commanding PRAGUE CASTLE. Perched on a promontory, this Royal Residence was founded in the 10th century and has been the seat of Presidents of since 1918. Within the castle walls is ST VITUS’s CATHEDRAL, site of coronations and the resting place of monarchs, clergy men and patron saints.
Day 7: KUTNA HORA/FREE TIME IN PRAGUE/BLACK LIGHT THEATRE
Venture into the BOHEMIAN COUNTRYSIDE on our way to KUTNA HORA, a town whose architectural beauty rivals the most beautiful cities in Europe. Highlights include the cathedral of St Barbara, the Stone House, the Gothic Fountain, and the former Baroque Convent of Ursuline nuns. Finally, we visit the village of SEDLEC, and All Saints Church, with furnishings made from human bones! We then return to Prague to enjoy free time in the centre or visit Prague’s Eiffel Tower and the Hall of Mirrors on PETRIN HILL.
or PRAGUE: JEWISH QUARTER/LIDICE VILLAGE
Look at Prague’s history from a Jewish perspective, starting at LIDICE VILLAGE, scene of Nazi atrocities in the Second World War. We then return to Prague’s JEWISH QUARTER to visit KLAUSEN SYNAGOGUE and JEWISH MUSEUM, which has some of the oldest religious objects in Europe and a moving collection of art created, including children, during their internment at Terezin Concentration Camp.
Evening
Enjoy Czech Republic’s world famous BLACK LIGHT THEATRE – where actors and objects defy gravity in a show that will dazzle and amaze!
